Marcus Magnusson makes rock n roll for the open road.Music that hits you like sunshine in May.His songs live somewhere between the rearview mirror and the horizon. Cars, aeroplanes, distant coastlines and roads leading out of town keep returning. Not as decoration, but because movement is at the heart of it. It is the moment when routine falls away and the world feels open again.The songs are built on electric guitars, drums and momentum. Marcus draws from the spirit of classic rock without trying to recreate the past. The sound carries a vintage character but feels alive in the present, raw enough to have character, polished enough to hit hard, and always guided by instinct rather than perfection.There is swagger and rebellion, but also warmth and optimism. Even when the songs deal with escape, they are not about running from life. They are about running toward it.Somewhere beyond the familiar streets, there is always another road, another place and another possibility.There is always new music around the corner.
Influences
Rock and Roll is my home turf. From The Rolling Stones, through AC/DC and Oasis to Hellacopters. Music that is as much about the sound as the attitude.
Guitar
Playing the guitar is essential.
It amplifies everything.
It can be meditational as well as an outlet for energy. From Flamenco to Neo-Classical, it can sound so different yet be the same.
If I were to mention some of my favorite players, I would toss in names like Ritchie Blackmore, both Malcom and Angus Young, Justin Hawkins and Yngwie.
